New medical professions will work out of the health clinic’s Lincoln Ave location
YAKIMA, WA – Central Washington Family Medicine Clinic, a service of Community Health of Central Washington (CHCW), is pleased to announce that it has added three new medical professionals to its medical services team. Maria Verduzco, MD, has been named the clinic’s medical site director. Jessica Cook Smith, PA-C, and Anna Bires, PA-C, join the clinic as physician assistants. They are currently welcoming new (and existing patients) at the clinic’s 1806 West Lincoln Ave location in Yakima.
Maria Verduzco, MD, has been named CWFM’s medical site director. She holds a medical degree from the University of Washington’s School of Medicine. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology, minor in chemistry, from Central Washington University. Verduzco was most recently a resident physician at CWFM, where she provided obstetric care, including prenatal care, routine deliveries and postpartum care.
Jessica Cook Smith, PA-C, joins CWFM as a physician assistant after graduating Emory University, Atlanta, GA, with a master’s degree in medical science in physician assistant studies. In addition, Smith holds a master’s of science degree in public health in epidemiology, also from the university. She most recently completed clinical rotations in family medicine, urgent care, geriatrics, obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology and emergency medicine throughout Atlanta, GA, and rural communities in Georgia.
Anna Bires, PA-C, also joins CWFM as a physician assistant. She holds a master’s degree in medical science in physician assistant studies from Lock Haven University, Lock Haven, PA. Additionally, Bires holds a master’s degree in exercise physiology from East Carolina University, Greensville, NC. As a recent physician assistant studies graduate, she also completed clinical rotations in family medicine, urgent care, geriatrics, obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology and emergency medicine in rural and urban areas of Pennsylvania.
